IMP/Metallurgy Foundry

Institute of the Materials Processing at MTU has the capabilities for a variety of permanent mold and sand casting operations. Photos show Michigan Tech students working in the IMP/Materials Science & Engineering lab carrying out a casting development project for a program involving university research, private enterprise and the student enterprise Program for Integrated Sustainable Manufacturing (PRISM). Outreach programs like Youth Programs and Women in Engineering also provide middle and high school students with exposure to foundry techniques.
