Mechanical Alloying Technology

The Institute of Materials Processing at Michigan Technological University has capabilities for mechanical alloying, mechanical milling and solid state powder processing of a wide range of metallic and ceramic materials in quantities ranging from about 10 g up to 20 kg. Dry milling can be done under either air or purified argon, and "slurry" milling can be performed in either traditional or cryogenic liquids. Facilities include:
